How I’m Shopping the Spring Beauty Sales Without Losing the Plot

What I’m buying from Sephora, Soko Glam, and Dermstreet, and how I’m using my shelf (and Dewy) to avoid overbuying and actually find what works.

I’m in a very specific phase of skincare right now, and honestly, it’s the whole reason I built my site in the first place.

I’m not starting from scratch, and I’m not trying to overhaul everything. But I am trying to slow aging, keep my skin looking fresh and glowy, and actually figure out which products are worth committing to long term. This is my “find my holy grail” era, just with a lot more intention than I’ve had in the past.

Because here’s what I realized. I wasn’t bad at finding good products. I was bad at keeping track of them and what works best for me.

I’d try something new and layer it with five other things, then have no idea if it was actually working. I’d forget products I loved, rebuy things I didn’t need, and lose track of what was even on my shelf. It felt like I was always starting over.

That’s what pushed me to start using my site. I wanted one place to track what I’m using, what I want to try, and what I’d actually repurchase. And more importantly, I wanted help narrowing things down instead of just reacting to whatever I was seeing online.

So, going into these spring sales, I didn’t start with a cart. I started with my shelf.

👉 If you’re shopping right now too, I’d really recommend doing the same. Start your shelf, log what you already use, and build from there. It makes everything feel a lot more intentional and way less overwhelming.

How I’m Shopping the Spring Sales This Year

Instead of treating every sale the same, I’m using each retailer differently based on what they’re best at and what I actually need.

  • Dermstreet (20-30% off) is where I invest in results

  • Sephora (10-20% off for Beauty Insiders) is where I explore new products and trends, and restock on my tried and true favorites I can only buy there

  • Soko Glam (Up to 30% off) is where I build and support my routine, and try newer ideas without overspending

That structure alone has helped me avoid buying a bunch of overlapping products that don’t actually move the needle.

Dermstreet

This is where I focus on products designed to deliver real, visible results. These are typically more clinical, higher-priced, and worth waiting for a sale.

This year, I finally used it as an opportunity to try:

And I’m restocking:

If you’ve been eyeing anything from SkinCeuticals, sales like this one are the only times it really makes sense to buy (IMO!).

Before I checked out, I ran everything through Dewy to make sure I wasn’t overlapping with products I already had. That alone saved me from adding a few things I didn’t actually need.

👉 Start your shelf and ask Dewy what’s actually worth investing in based on what you already have.

Sephora

Sephora is where I let myself explore, but with a lot more restraint than I used to have.

This is where I try products I’ve been hearing about everywhere, but instead of buying into every trend, I’m picking a few that actually align with what I’m focused on right now. Hydration, peptides, skin quality, and glow.

I’m excited to try:

And I always use Sephora sales as an opportunity to replenish favorites from the following brands if I need them:

Before checking out, I sanity-checked my cart against my shelf. Dewy helped me spot where I was about to purchase products that would sit on my shelf unopened for weeks or months, or overdo it and never truly understand what's actually working, which is exactly what I’ve done in the past.

👉 Start your shelf and run your cart through Dewy before you check out.

Soko Glam

If Dermstreet is where I invest and Sephora is where I explore, Soko Glam is where I actually build my routine.

K-beauty tends to be more affordable, quicker to push new ingredients, and really strong when it comes to hydration and barrier support. So I use it to strengthen the foundation of my routine and to experiment with newer ideas without the same pressure.

I’m restocking the below - everything is under $20:

Here I’m focused on layering and support. Not overloading my skin with actives, but building a routine that actually works together.

👉 Start your shelf and ask Dewy to help you build your routine step by step.

The Way I’m Approaching This Now

What’s changed for me isn’t just how I’m shopping these sales. It’s how I’m deciding what’s worth buying at all.

And that shift came from using my own site.

When I actually built out my shelf and saw everything in one place, it became very clear that I didn’t need to do the most. I didn’t need a full routine reset or five new serums. I didn’t need another version of something I already owned.

I just needed visibility.

Then I ran everything through Dewy.

Instead of me trying to justify every product, Dewy looked at what I already had and pointed out what actually made sense to add and what didn’t. Where there were real gaps, where I was doubling up, and where I was about to fall into the same pattern I always do.

At one point, she literally told me no more retinols because I already have two on my shelf. And she talked me out of about 5 other products that I just really didn't need right now too.

Which is fair. And also exactly what I needed to hear.

That’s what made this feel different. I wasn’t guessing. I wasn’t reacting to hype. I was editing.

So instead of introducing everything at once, I’m focusing on a small number of products that actually serve a purpose, and keeping everything else consistent so I can see what’s working.

For the first time, it feels like I’m actually making progress toward finding my holy grails instead of starting over every few months.

If you’re in a similar phase and want to be more intentional about it:

👉 Log what you’re using, what you love, and what you want to try

👉 Ask Dewy what actually makes sense next

It makes the whole process a lot clearer and a lot more useful in the long run.

Let’s dew this together
